You are invited to TivoliVredenburg on Saturday, 20 December, for ‘Taste of Swing’ Learn more about swing dancing, meet new friends on the dance floor and take your first steps in dancing to jazz music.
Join us for free dance workshops and practice your newly learned skills on our social dance party.
*Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz and more*
Choose and mix the dance styles you want to try:
- Lindy Hop (partner dance); learn about musicality, connection and improvisation on the dance floor.
- Solo Jazz (without a partner); become one with the music!
- Blues (partner dance); go slower, groove with the music and get closer together.
- Collegiate Shag (partner dance); get started with fast footwork, creativity and craziness on the dance floor.
- Balboa (partner dance); dance faster, more subtle and get closer together.
Most of these dances are part of the swing dance family, a group of social swing dances of African-American origin that developed in the 1920s-1940s in the black community of Harlem, New York.

- Guided by 1 or 2 dance teachers
- For (complete) beginners
- You do not need to bring a dance partner. We rotate dance partner during class.
- Instructions are given in English
